Many elements from one analysis
Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) measures many elements in a single run. A sample is dissolved, turned into a fine mist and passed through a very hot plasma, and the light given off identifies and measures each element.
Why it helps exploration
Gold is often accompanied by other elements. Measuring a wide suite of elements across soil, rock or drill samples helps geologists see patterns that a gold-only analysis would not show. The same data is useful for baseline studies.
RVA Labs offers ICP-OES multi-element analysis (33 elements) and ICP-MS ultra-trace analysis (51–65 elements).
